Hi,
I’m Christopher.
I’m a researcher and professor. I work primarily in the philosophy and ethics of technology, investigating the relationship between humans and technology. I’m interested in this relation both as an activity of our species generally and as a pressing ethical issue specifically.
My work is driven by the belief that philosophy can help designers develop technologies that enhance rather than diminish human capabilities and flourishing. I draw on the ancient tradition of Aristotelian virtue ethics and its contemporary proponents to make my case.
I teach in the philosophy department at Houston City College and in the Teagle Foundation-funded Human Horizons program.
I also enjoy music, film, running, photography, and soccer.
